We are thrilled to announce that Purpl has won the Social Impact Award at the European Rakuten Golden Links Awards 2025, held on Wednesday 19th March in London.

The Social Impact Award recognises brands who are making a positive difference in the world, highlighting conscious consumerism and societal outcomes and so it means a lot for Purpl’s ethos to be celebrated in this way.

Purpl founder, Georgina Colman said:

We are incredibly honoured to have received the Social Impact award. Purpl is a small team of people passionate about making positive change in the lives of the disabled community and to see this validation by the judges and Rakuten means a lot.

The awards from Rakuten Advertising aim to spotlight brands and publishers who are using the affiliate marketing channel to drive positive social change with focus areas including working with communities to drive societal outcomes, such as building community cohesion, creating economic opportunities, and improving health, wellbeing, and quality of life.

Purpl Disabled Discounts, Making a Difference for the Disabled Community

Purpl was formed by Georgina Colman, who lives with MS and ADHD, she understands the financial challenges that come with living with a disability and is on a mission to help the disabled community save money through discounts on everyday products and services, as well as creating a place to support every person living with a disability in the UK.

Living with a disability often means facing additional financial burdens, around £1,010 extra per month, according to research by Scope. These extra costs can arise from specialised equipment, transportation, or higher energy usage at home, creating a significant financial gap. While government benefits, like Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Disability Living Allowance (DLA), help, they often don’t cover everything. This is where Purpl steps in, helping disabled individuals by offering exclusive discounts to reduce everyday living expenses.

Purpl Affiliate & Partnerships Manager Michael Jones said as he collected the award alongside Seth Richardson, Purpl Advisor:

We work in a fantastic industry and every day we get the chance to make a difference to the disabled community and people’s lives! To be recognised alongside other winners such as Lego, Superdrug and Gucci as a start up company means a lot to our small but passionate and hardworking team.

Our Vision: Authenticity and Passion

At the heart of Purpl’s success is Georgina, its founder, who is deeply connected to the challenges that disabled people face. Her passion to provide real financial support to the community is what drives Purpl. This isn’t just a business to her, it’s a movement to create a fairer and more affordable society for disabled individuals.

Purpl’s approach isn’t just about offering discounts, but about building a community where disabled people feel supported and understood. It’s this authentic commitment to making a difference that sets Purpl apart, creating a space where members can find savings on the things they need, when they need them.

Purpl’s mission is to make life more affordable for disabled individuals by providing them access to discounts designed specifically to offset these additional costs. Whether it’s savings on everyday essentials, technology, or leisure activities, Purpl is providing a much-needed lifeline to those who are facing the financial challenges of living with a disability.
